Privacy policy

How Proven Motors collects, uses and protects your personal information, under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

• Contact details you give us: name, phone, email and address.
• Vehicle interests: the vehicles you ask about, your budget, trade-in details and appointment times.
• Credit applications: date of birth, address and housing, employment and income, and anything else you choose to tell us. We never ask for your Social Insurance Number online.
• Messages you send us through forms, the website chat, Facebook Messenger or email.

How we use it

• To answer your questions, book appointments and follow up on your inquiry.
• To assess a credit application, when you ask us to (see below).
• To complete a sale or trade and meet our legal obligations, including AMVIC and tax record-keeping.

We don't sell your personal information or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Credit applications

When you submit a finance application and give consent, we may share it with the lenders we work with, and they may get your credit report from a credit bureau (Equifax or TransUnion) to assess it. We talk with you before sending your application to a lender. You can withdraw your consent at any time before a lender makes a decision.

Who else handles it

We use a few service providers to run our business: website hosting, email delivery and an AI assistant that helps answer chats and emails. They process information only on our behalf and must keep it secure. Some of them may store or process information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries and credit applications only as long as we need them for the purpose you gave them to us, or as the law requires. Sales records are kept as required by AMVIC and tax law.

Your choices

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete it where the law allows, or ask us to stop contacting you.
